A New Painting

April 25, 2017

rocks on hwy 29 900

A few weeks ago, we travelled across the northern part of the Texas Hill Country to meet my brother and sister-in-law for lunch in Mason. The town of Mason is roughly half way between their home in San Angelo and our home in Liberty HIll.  We’ve found that the Willow Creek Cafe, on the town square is a great place to spend a couple of hours eating quesadillas and catching up with each other’s lives.

The painting above was done from one of my 60 mph photographs, shot while Nell navigated the curves and hills on Texas State Highway 29. The bluebonnets were coming into bloom and the rocky terrain was spotted with cactus.

I thought this would be a timely post, since we are headed that way for lunch again this week.

Safe travels.

Ralph – things are going good – a few minor medical problems but they are working out – just had a nice show – sold 6 paintings :>) Going on a plein air painting trip to Sedona AZ for 2 months – Aug & Sept this year – got to get out of Florida for part of the summer the humidity is HORRIBLE – can’t take it!!!!! In the future we hope to leave for July through Sept.

Good for you. Hope the medical issues keep working out. That’s what’s keeping us in place right now. Congratulations on the painting sales. Two months in Sedona to paint… wow. That sounds like a great trip. All the best.
