Little Fishing Pier

March 13, 2012

Woodland Lakes RV Park, Conroe/Woodlands, TX

Just across the driveway from where we’re parked, there’s a pond, and this little deck/pier sits out over the water.  The other day, there were a couple of boys fishing from the deck.  I asked if there really were fish in there, and they said yes, that they had caught some small ones.  The lake and ponds rose dramatically over the weekend, the result of two days of almost continuous rain.  They’ve receded now, but it was interesting to sit inside the RV and watch the water rise.  We were never in any danger of being flooded, but we were glad we made the move up into the paved section of the RV park.

I’ve bought a couple of sketchbooks that I hope to use to record some of the places we visit.  Started experimenting with it with this and a few other sketches.  I’ve posted those in the art blog.

Love you painting. I am a folk artist painting under the name L. Woods. Mostly my medium has been metal, but am expanding to plein air. Thanks for sharing.
